COVID-19 and your Summer 2020 Stay

Your health, safety and happiness is important to us and our team is committed to keeping you safe.

All members of our team have undertaken training on ‘An Introduction to Infection Prevention and Control’ and ‘Prevent COVID-19’ to ensure we can meet  the needs of our guests and reassure you that you can still have a relaxing and peaceful holiday.

We have made some changes in the way we operate in some of our key areas and will continue to update our best practice in line with government guidance. You will see this reflected in

Self-Catering:

  • Each lodge will be treated with our disinfectant fogger between changeovers.
  • All linen is washed with an added detergent ‘Dettol Antibacterial Laundry Cleanser’ –  this kills 99.9% of bacteria, so that you can be confident that your laundry is hygienically clean every time. Our washing procedures meet industry standards and above.
  • Housekeeping has now been cancelled to ensure that contact between guests and guests/staff is limited. You can relax knowing that the only people to enter your cosy lodge each day, is you and your family.
  • Our change-over cleaning is, as always, very thorough. Even soft furnishings will be sprayed with the disinfectant fogger.
  • We have a dedicated office mobile number so you can text/what’s app any questions or queries to us where you’d usually pop up to reception for a chat. This phone will be monitored during the reception opening hours only.
  • Check-in and check-out will be less personal than we’d like but we must lessen contact. We will contact you on the day of your arrival to explain the arrival procedure. When checking out at/before the departure time of 9:30am, you can send a text or email to us to let us know you’ve departed.
  • Pre-arrival information including snippets of information regularly asked for by guests will be emailed to guests – these are things such as the link for the tide times to walk to St. Michael’s Mount and a local taxi number.
  • Our pool must remain closed. After reading the government guidelines regarding the reopening of pools and leisure facilities in the wake of COVID-19, we can see that we are unable to open our fantastic pool due to our ventilation system. The government has stated that ventilation must be 100% from an outside source and the system we use is 100% recycled air which is used to heat the pool. In our pool area, humid air is taken from the pool room by our ‘air exchanger’ where it is then used to heat the water, finishing with pumping the cooled air back into the pool room. Therefore, we cannot open the pool as to heat the pool, the ventilation system MUST be running. We are saddened that we cannot open at this time but we are looking for alternatives and will reopen when it is safe to do so.
  • We are compliant with the NHS Track and Trace service.
  • Ultimately, we ask all our guests to be aware of others – especially with the 2m (1m+) distancing rule currently in place.

Camping/touring:

  • We have streamlined the amount of pitches we’re selling to allow the for social distancing between pitches – this means we have very limited availability so all bookings are on a first-come-first-served basis with a 25% deposit to secure your pitch, as normal. This means that we do not have pitch numbers this year and will use letters instead.
  • We’re changing the access to the shared toilet/shower facilities so they are no longer shared between specific genders but ask families/groups to go to the showers/toilets together as much as possible to reduce others’ waiting times.
  • We’ve creating a screened queuing area down our corridor which is one way and screened with translucent plastic to separate an in & out direction of customers. Unfortunately, this means we will temporarily lose our hot drinks machine, freezer, leaflet stand and book exchange from the corridor to make space. The freezer and leaflet stand have been relocated, don’t worry!
  • We will be asking the guests to spray and wipe down the surfaces when they first get in to the shared facilities and most importantly when they leave
  • We will be implementing even more cleaning that we currently do ourselves by closing the reception and toilet/shower facilities daily for a specific amount of time whilst we clean
  • We will have additional portable loos on site (you know the ones we mean – don’t worry, we keep them super clean!) so no one gets ‘caught short’ whilst waiting for the shared facilities. We ask guests to anti-bac spray before and after use.
  • We’re making outside cold water washing up areas so people don’t have to come inside to wash up.
  • We love to provide the little details that make your stay easier where we can! Unfortunately this year, we have had to stop supplying clean tea-towels and wash cloths in our washing up areas to avoid transmission of any germs etc.
  • We’re asking people to use their onboard facilities as much as possible and are encouraging those in tents/small campervans, to buy portable camping toilets.
  • We have a dedicated office mobile number so you can text any questions or queries to us where you’d usually pop up to reception for a chat. This phone will be monitored during the reception opening hours of 8:30am-11am and 2pm-7pm (6pm on Sundays) only.
  • Check-in and check-out will be less personal than we’d like but we must lessen contact. We will contact you on the day of your arrival to explain the arrival procedure. When checking out at/before  the departure time of 11am, you can send a text or email to us to let us know you’ve departed. Self-check-in will be available from 1pm in ou rblue arrivals shed and if you prefer to speak to us, you can check in at reception from 2pm. Please note, all of your arrival information documents will be in the self-check-in area from 1pm.
