Frequently Asked Questions About Wheal Rodney Holiday Park

Is the site suitable for those without a car?

Yes, although we are peacefully situated in the countryside, it's just a 5 minute walk to the town. There is an excellent bus service from Marazion, which will connect with all the destinations you require.

Where is the nearest shop?

We have a well stocked shop on site. Further shops, the Post Office and chemist are 15 minutes walk away.

Have you got a clubhouse?

No, and that's the way our regulars like it. Wheal Rodney is a small site, which operates a quiet after 10pm policy for the benefit of our guests.

Where is the nearest pub?

Just 5 minutes walk up the lane you will find The Fire Engine Inn - fantastic views over the castle and Mounts Bay from the bar and beer garden. Just 10 minutes walk into town you will find the Godolphin Arms.

Can we walk to the beach?

Yes, you can either walk through the town, or follow the public footpath from Wheal Rodney, which leads across the fields. Either way takes about 15 minutes. You can hop on one of the frequent buses to get back if you are tired after a day of sun, sea and sand.

What is there to do?

This magical part of Cornwall has so much to offer, from a complete bronze age village to modern theme parks, so there really is something for everyone.

Visitors who have been staying at Wheal Rodney for many years tell us they find new things to discover on each visit.

You will find our little town of Marazion has plenty to offer including a museum, choice of restaurants, shops and galleries. If you would like a bit more to see and do then Penzance is just 3.5 miles away.

We try and provide as much insight into the local area as possible. Please check our Local Attractions page for more details.

Can we bring the dog?

Yes. We just ask that your pet is kept on a short lead whilst on site, and does not cause a nuisance to other visitors. Dogs are allowed in certain bunalows for a small charge, whilst other bungalows are kept 'pet free'. There are dog walks directly from the site and Marazion also has a second beach where dogs are permitted, so it's an ideal place for your pet to enjoy their holidays. Check out our Dog Friendly Camping page here.

Can we come for just a few days?

Yes - we are open all year round for self catering and from Easter to October for camping. At the busy peak season times in summer and at Christmas, there is a  minimum stay of seven nights for our self catering guests. We do try to be as flexible as possible to fit around your families needs. Short breaks and one night stays are available.  Please enquire from reception and we will do our best to help.
