Reviews Of Wheal Rodney Holiday Park
Going on holiday is something most of us look forward to for some time so you want to be sure that you will have the very best chance of enjoying your well earned holiday. To help convince you that Wheal Rodney is the perfect place for you to spend your holiday here are some of the reviews from people who have stayed with us.
"This was our first (but definitely not our last!) trip to Wheal Rodney in our camper wagon and recommend it to any one who lives small sites with wonderfully welcoming people and facilities - bowled over by the heated indoor pool, the super clean facilities and the ease of getting to the local pub - and staggering back! Thank you." Jane Google Places
"My family in law have been coming to Wheal Rodney camping & caravan park for the last 23 years, every Easter. I have been coming with them for the last few years and we all love the place! We camp in the field while my family in law have a self catering bungalow. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the site itself is excellent and we are a 10 minute walk from the pub and can be in Marazion town centre with a 15 minute walk. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a campsite/self catering cottage near Penzance or Marazion to check out Wheal Rodney." Hypnotherapy Sheffield Google Places
"We've been coming to Wheal Rodney for six years. We're now booking to come back two years in advance, so that's how good it is. We like the people, the place, the facilities, the proximity to the village and the distance from it (and no, that's not contradictory) and the place where we can walk our dogs, as they're important to us. People come there who don't want the full scale entertainment of other sites - just to camp, have fun and swim in the pool. Within a short distance there's beaches on both coasts (some with full Atlantic exposure for the surfers, some more sheltered), moors, towns, crafts, places of interest and similar. There's places to eat with local specialties with Newlyn, the largest fishing port in the South West, supplying the freshest fish. There's local beers and ciders, witnessed by the fact that it takes us twice as long to get back from the pub as to get to it. But above all there's the people who run it. They're great. (If you think they've paid me to write this, they haven't)" John Google Places
"Clean comfortable lodges. friendly. Excellent value for money - visited for a 3 day 'bargain break' in early January. Swimming pool very warm" Hot Dog Google Places
"I have been coming to Wheal Rodney for a number of years and just love this campsite. The facilities are great my little girl loves the swimming pool and the open camping meadow is just gorgeous. The camp showers are also amazing! Amanda (receptionist) is also so helpful and lovely and makes us feel very welcome. We will continue to come to Wheal Rodney to enjoy Penzance and this amazing part of the world for many years to come". Fiona Google Places
"Just back from Wheal Rodney. Campsite is lovely. It's a 15 minute walk into Marazion town where you can have some beach time or visit St. Michael's Mount. You can get a train to St. Ives from the nearby train station. The showers are so powerful they nearly blow you away. There is a pool which is as warm as a bath. They have a great scheme where you can borrow frozen ice blocks until yours are frozen. There is a shop with essentials and they will charge up your mobile etc. The wash up facilities are good and there are washing machines and tumble dryers. The camping field is peaceful and relaxed in a nice woodland setting. Ideal for dog lovers too." Paula0607 Tripadvisor
"I was impressed with this site before I even booked. They have a great video on their website. Yes, it shows the site, but it is also a lovely insight into Marazion too.
The self catering bungalow was clean and comfortable, in a beautiful location with very welcoming staff. The price was excellent value too.
What I didn't expect was the hospitality tray when, plus all the bits & pieces supplied - sponges, wash cloths, washing up liquid, surface cleaners, bathroom cleaners, loo paper, towels -...the list goes on. Plus a nice lady coming in each day for a once over!
The local information supplied in the bungalow was excellent plus we had Orla, our 'wired to the moon' dog with us - there is even a complete info-brochure for dog owners and NOT purely a rules and regulations book...but positive info, where dogs are allowed, local vets, best walks etc. And the other info supplied is a lovely touch - it is all about the people who run Wheal Rodney, about the animals who live there, a wee bit of history and where it is at now.
We have stayed in many s/c venues and have never been so well catered for!
Swimming pool was great...and though we didn't need to use the laundry, we did a nosey and it looked more than ample. Site shop has the basics plus the great staff to bring you up to speed on whatever 'you need to know'.
Fabulous stay and base to explore the area from, with lovely surrounds to come 'home' to and just chill...we can't recommend it highly enuff! Only complaint is - it is too far away from Ayrshire, Scotland...but we fully intend doing the long trip again and staying at Wheal Rodney...but for longer next time!" Med777 Tripadvisor
"Rented a bungalow here for the weekend with my partner whilst we had a family event in the area. We stayed on the winter offer tariff which was an absolute bargain!
The bungalows are very well equipped with all the mod cons you would expect and very clean and tidy. In addition you get a lot of extras that I would not say are standard so extra points for things like plenty of towels, welcome food pack, coffee, milk, tea, toilet roll, dish liquid etc. Basically all the things you would normally take to a campsite location you don't need as it is all there for you!
Very tidy place, friendly staff and a lovely location. Go and stay you can't lose really!" Cornishgirl111 Tripadvisor
"Amazing! A must stay! Absolutely lovely site, lovely people running it-really friendly. Quiet, animals around for the children to look at ie. dogs and cats and chickens! Will stay there many many times again in the future! SWIMMING POOL FOR THE KIDS TO PLAY IN FOR FREE because we were staying there. The best holiday we've ever been on by far-and we used to go abroad a lot!" Donald B. Touchlocal
